I've got a screw loose. It's in my leg though, not my head. Hahaha... Anyway, I'm having surgery tomorrow to remove the plate and seven screws on my fibula. I broke my leg in '03 and I've recently discovered that one of the screws is sticking out/unscrewing. It's been pretty sore for awhile and apparently that's why. It's not scary but I'm a bit nervous - which is nothing strange. So I have to be there at 11 in the morning. No coffee, no cigarettes. No breakfast. (though I'd much prefer a smoke to food.) Anne is going to go with me. Yay Anne! They told me to get some crutches. I hate crutches and I hope I don't really need them. Also hoping I'm not too sore 'cause I want to be able to work Thursday. I like working. The money is good too. Hopefully it will be a cake walk. It's outpatient surgery and I'm not sure if they'll put me out or not yet. I have mixed feelings about being awake for it. The surgeon said if I opt to be awake, I'd experience some discomfort. Which is what one Dr. told me about a bone marrow biopsy that ended up being one of the more painful procedures I've ever experienced. So we'll see. But I'm stoked to get my hardware out. Now if I could get to sleep... |

Hey, hey.
I've not updated in a long while. Been too busy to blog and I don't know how interesting my life is anyway.
But I thought I'd post since I've recently moved into a new place and have also adopted a cat. So this will just be a few pictures for now. Who knows, maybe I'll start updating my blog again.
Alright. That's all for now. Things are going well, I'm excited for spring so I can get my bike out. It'll be three years at the co-op in July and I'm excited about that too. I'll be getting a week of paid vacation time so I need to figure out how and where I'll be using that.
Hope everyone who reads this blog is doing well. </div>

| Trick or Treat |
[Oct. 31st, 2008|12:25 am] |
I finally decided what I'm going to do for a Halloween costume. First I was hell bent on the gorilla suit. But I can't really go to work in that, and they're fairly expensive. Then Heather was trying to convince me to be John McCain...but I don't want to. But I'm broke this Halloween and I want something a little more silly, so I'm going to be a zombie bike-messenger.
"I was riding to work....I saw something out of the corner of my eye. Next thing I know some guy lunges at me from the sidewalk, knocks me off my bike and starts biting me everywhere. I socked him in the face and got away, but not before he drew blood. About ten minutes later, I had a headache from hell and an insatiable craving for brains..."
I like it. I am making my own blood, so tonight I did a test run. Heh. I made a huge mess in my house, but it was worth it.
I have a cracked bike helmet that I'm going to smear with blood. I have some old clothes that are going to get torn and bloodied up as well as some face paint for that pale, sunken in, hungry zombie complexion. It should be fun, especially at work.
Then after work I'm biking over to Luke's Halloween party.
Have fun & be safe everyone.

| Fall Fun |
[Oct. 22nd, 2008|01:58 am] |
I've been good lately. I've carved a couple pumpkins and it was a blast. My favorite is the zombie pumpkin, which I think turned out pretty good. Heather, Brian and I enjoyed an evening of pie-baking, pumpkin carving (we curried the seeds too) and we watched a scary movie: The Strangers. Creepy. Today I spent a couple hours riding around on some trails and enjoying the last few nice days we have before it gets really cold.

I haven't updated in awhile. I've been pretty busy with work and everything else. I'm doing the master cleanse again. I'm on day four today. I'd like to ease into winter not feeling like shit. I was going to start earlier, but I wanted to wait until after my parents left.
They drove up to visit for a couple days. It wasn't bad. I avoided talking about religion for the most part. I also talked to them about how it bothers me that they insist on keeping me a secret to the rest of the family. Around the rest of the family, they talk about me as if I've never transitioned. So when they come up to visit me, they have a really difficult time with my name and everything. It's frustrating. I asked them what I'm supposed to do when someone dies and the whole family is together. They didn't really respond. But at least they know I'm concerned. Beyond that, the rest of the visit was nice. We hung out a lot, went to some stores, walked around the gardens, went to a co-op event. They want to come up again for the holidays. We'll see.

| Wedding pictures! |
[Aug. 17th, 2008|09:14 pm] |
Heather & Brian got married yesterday! I'll get copies of the professional pictures, but here are a few from my camera. This is before the wedding, at the hotel. I'm holding the marriage license that I will eventually sign. Also, I look insane in this picture because I'd just arrived in Two Harbors and had to hustle to get to the lodge for the ceremony. I was also super nervous. Terrified, actually. |

This is my 2nd full day out from breaking my fast/ending the cleanse. I'm feeling pretty good. Eating solid foods now, and only raw foods.
I'm out the door pretty soon here, I need to get a ride in today before it decides to rain. No good. So, I think I'm going to go to the co-op, get something nice to drink and then head over to Heather & Brian's so we can rehearse the verbal aspects of the wedding. I've got quite a bit of material to familiarize myself with. The wedding is on the 16th, coming up fast!
Everyone calls me Rev., or sinister minister. It's a bit amusing. But I still do have some reservations about being ordained from some bizarre internet church. However, it's just for their wedding, no other purpose. So it's only moderately unethical. haha.
Need to get my nerves under control. I can stifle my nervousness by thinking about how this is their special day, not about me. That they chose me, knowing that I've never done anything like this before. Also, I think about how I'm honored that these two want me to have such a great part in their wedding. That's pretty flattering. So as long as I remember these things, practice, and remember to breathe, I think it'll be a great ceremony.
There will be pictures eventually. Everyone on my f-list will get to see. :)
Okay. Out the door with me. |

I was working on some drawings this morning and I smelled this foul odor wafting in from outside. I go look out my window and just down the tracks from my place is a scrap metal building on fire. Within a few minutes there is a fleet of fire trucks and emergency vehicles swarming the area. All the cross streets are closed down and it just keeps getting smokier. I think I'm gonna bike into work early, it smells so bad. I hope nobody got hurt today. |

| Snake Bike Lock! |
[Jun. 15th, 2008|11:12 pm] |
Snake Bike LocksI really want one. However, I question their strength. I would hope there's a nice thick weaved cable inside. I might get the black and white one. It's at least a fun novelty to have. |

I bought a new set of 0 gauge plugs for my ears. They're teak, and I really like them. Simple, not too big & wooden. Next month I get my Anatole tattoo which will be just under my left collar bone, near my shoulder. I'm excited. I'm actually a little nervous too. I'm mostly done with the design. He'll be riding a bicycle. I'll post that of course, but this is what the actual book covers look like.
That's all. |

What a nice day!
I picked up a shift today, so I worked, made some scratch.
Then I left early, and rode over to Rod's Bike Shop where I had the tire from my Giant repaired. Then I fell in love with a bike there and had to take it for a test ride. Then I bought it. Cost me $377, most of which was from my economic stimulus. It's so hawt! It's a Fuji Captiva. It's a cruiser which is awesome for me since I commute via bike. It's burnt orange. Rocking seven gears. I don't really need more than that. Now I just need to attach my light and my tail rack and I should be set.
Anyway, I'm pretty stoked. I can't wait to ride it to work tomorrow morning. I already put ten miles on it today.

I just got home from work and I see that there is a government check here for me.
I'm gonna stimulate the hell out of the economy.
Might put this towards a new bike. I'm excited. I kinda want this bike. Okay, I really like it. A lot. It's sexy as hell.
I don't really need a new bike...
The last couple of years I've become obsessed. And the two that I own now don't fill that void in my soul.
I don't know. I'm gonna shop around. Going to check out the local bike shop tomorrow after work. |
